Paul and Rachel Chandler are a couple to envy. Still very much in love in their mid-fifties and spending their days liveblogging sailing trips around the world. Sailing trips through pirate-infested waters, where they may have gotten captured.

Perhaps it wasn't the best of ideas for the Chandlers to publicly post their position while going through areas which are known to be frequented by Somali pirates, but at least it gives us their last known whereabouts. Maybe it also gives some hope that it was merely some kind of temporary break in communication that paused their liveblogging instead of a pirate capture, but the cryptic final message of "PLEASE RING SARAH" leaves me fearing for their safety. While most of you had a painless upgrade to Windows 7, some experienced problems with the downloadable Student Edition from Digital River. Microsoft acknowledged the problem, and has now come through with the ISO file you so desperately need.

If you were affected by this problem, here are your solutions:

It seemed weird at first, but I'm falling in love with this Nobo electric radiator. It's like an indoor campfire coffee table made with fire and ice.

The heat emanating from the "pit" is controlled by an iPod-esque touch wheel and a built-in projector adds to the ambiance by illuminating the glass logs with a video of flickering flames. Plus, the base gives you plenty of space for guests to place their drinks. Nobo is insanely expensive at $2,800, but you would be hard-pressed to find a living room centerpiece that has more going for it. [CL Designs via Born Rich]

Being a secret Susan Kare fanboy, I like this 8-bit barbecue. But I want my steaks to be 64-bits, thank you very much. And if I'm eating with the rest of the Giz gluttons, it has to be multi-core.

The Barbeque is part of the No Screw No Glue line by designers Joost van Bleiswijk and Kiki van Eijk. [Mocoloco]

There's a lot of speculation about Google working on and preparing to release a mobile navigation app. For free. The logic's there and the pieces fit, but we still lack solid proof.

With Google's increased focus on collecting map data (and less reliance on third-party map providers such as Tele Atlas) and Android 2.0's rumored turn-by-turn directions in the soon-to-be-released Droid, it's feasible that they are in fact making preparations to let out a new Google product.

Android and Me, who has dubbed this app as the Google Navigator (which seems like it would fit well enough with Google's naming pattern), predicts that we'll see it in 2010. Forbes doesn't care to throw out a date, but one thing's for sure anyway: A free app of this nature from Google could definitely shake up the mobile navigation game.
